200+ Jobs applied for...

Yep you read that right, I have applied for over 200 jobs.  Teaching jobs, office jobs, sales jobs, customer service jobs.

I am thinking that my best bet would be to start my own business so that I have the flexibility to take care of Maggie when she is sick.  Maybe, a Jill of All Trades kind of business; cleaning, grocery shopping, sick child care, errand running etc.  Either that or an evening job so that I can be with her during the day.  I don't know.

I wonder what my former boss would do if she was in my position...

Happy Easter!

Today was a good day.

Maggie and I attended a friends baby shower, then headed to Woodburn to get new shoes for Maggie - I love the clearance section.  $40 for 3 pairs of shoes.

This evening we went to my friend Tamera's house and colored Easter Eggs with her daughter and grandson.  It was a lot of fun.  Kind of weird because there was a big moment that happened and to her family I was a complete stranger so it was a bit weird to share that with them  But they were really great about it.

Maggie kept trying to lick the vinegar/dye solution off of the eggs.  She loves vinegar.  She ended up with blue lips, fingers and tongue.

I am taking each moment as it comes.  I really want to go see a pyschic, a real one that someone I know has seen and believes in.   The reason for this is that I want to know that things will turn around for me eventually.

Maggie is doing awesome!!!  She is wearing 18 month clothing  she is a tall girl. She is the average height of a 2 year old and her weight falls in the 15 month category.  She is a healthy growing girl.  If we could just avoid these stupid colds, and bouts of vomiting, stomach flu and asthma attacks we would be in good shape.

You're Fired!!

If I didn't have a lot of perservence I would start to take these experiences personally.  I was fired today because of my attendance - I have missed work because of Maggie being sick, myself being sick (far less than for Maggie.)

Yeah - I really take the cake.  I often wonder what makes me so lucky (insert sarcasm).  They knew why she was sick, it is a women owned company, but they didn't care.  I did everything in my power to try not to miss work - I had my mom take Maggie to as many appointments as I could, gave them advanced notice of appointments to specialist when I had to take her.  But it all came down to Maggie throwing up at daycare on Monday - them calling me and me having to leave work to go get her because my Mom was out of town.

I really do not know what to do.  Luckily I just went back on my anti-depressants so I am sure that has helped with my response, and I had already taken a Xanax today so I was pretty relaxed.

Someone tell me that it will get better - tell me that this crap on Anne parade will end soon. :(

One of the things that ticks me off is that they had my checks drawn up on Tuesday but didn't give them to me until today.  They knew all week what was going on.  I wished they had fired me on any day but today.  Today was Maggie' Easter Egg hunt at school and I didn't go, I didn't ask for time off, I didn't ask to take an early lunch,  I sent my dad and sister in law.

I realize they are running a business and need to make money.  I wish that they had seen that I was making effort and arrangements.  Did I love this job, no.  But it was a decent job.

I will be okay - I have a lot of great things in my life:

1.  Maggie
2.  Sam
3 My family
4. My friends
5. My education

Want to be a teacher...

So, because I was terminated from a teaching position I am having difficulty getting to the interview for teaching jobs. On every application I fill out they ask if I have ever been terminated or had a contract revoked. Half the time I say yes and explain the situation as diplomatically as possible the other half of the time I leave it blank or I answer no to the question.

But because when I was terminated it was discussed among the bishops, priests and principals at their monthly meetings - I have been black listed from all Catholic schools.

So basically I am at the pivot point to decide if  I keep fighting for something I love or do I just give up the fight and do something else? I feel totally screwed over.

I am having the hardest time - I feel so damaged from this whole experience. Damaged emotionally, mentally, psychologically. How do I get past this? I feel like everyday is a struggle and I am sick of it. I just want a break! It is so not fair - everyone else in the world can have their family and a job they like/love but it feels like a giant crap on Anne game.

That is whats going on...crap on Anne. I feel bad for Maggie for having me as her mom.

Pretty Little One Year Old

Music, dancing, reading and applying for jobs

While I am thankful to have employment now - I kind of feel like I want to get the heck out of Oregon.  I am ready for the next adventure of Annie and Maggie.  I was talking to a friend today and she asked me how my job was going - I said I hate it.  But I think God led me to this job so I would be more motivated to find a teaching job anywhere.  So as my friend Kathy says - give it up to God - done.  Just waiting for his guidance.

I have applied for over 100 teaching jobs and only a small handful 1-2 are in Oregon.  I am targeting states with the most teaching jobs; Florida, Utah. Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and Oklahoma.  Quite a variety there of climates and locations. I am excited about any teaching job - but for some reason I really like the idea of teaching in Wyoming - it is a 17 hour drive back to Portland.  Which is to long for a weekend trip but it is short enough for a week long trip.  SO I could see us coming to visit for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break and Summer.  One thing that I love about applying for these jobs is that a lot of them start in Late June/Early August.

I don't know that at this time it matters where we end up, I would like a smaller town or city.  I am just so ready.

Maggie is doing awesome!!!  She is cutting 2 new teeth today - thank God!  I was pretty sure I was going to have to invest in a partial set of dentures ;)  She has her front top and bottom now she is getting the teeth to the left of those two, one on top and one on bottom.  My dad noticed them today when she was in the swing in the backyard - she was laughing and poof he saw the white.  They haven't broken through the skin yet but they are very close.  I just hope they aren't going to decide to go back down.

Right this minute my mini-genius is reading a book to her Grandpa.  Okay she doesn't know the words but she is sitting there with the book open making sounds like she is reading.  She has some great early literacy skills!!!

She is growing so much!!  I went through multiple pairs of pants yesterday for her because none of them fit they were all suddenly capri length.  Which is great if we ever get summer but at this rate not so much.  So off to Target today to hit up the sales rack for some pants.  18month and 24 month.  Wow!!  How did that happen!!  She is a little tall for her age but nothing outstanding.  I do know she just went through a big growth spurt.

Maggie loves Music, she loves song being sang to her, listening to music on the radio or playing her own music on her baby piano.  She loves dancing to the music - it is quite funny to peak at her in the rear view mirror and see her be-bopping up and down left and right.

It is so cool being her Mom!!!!
