I am up, Maggie is sick - SURPRISE!

I have a love hate relationship with her going to "school".  I love it because she gets to interact with other children, she gets to do art projects, and she loves her teachers.  I hate it because I swear she is constantly sick.  Today we woke up to snow.  School was cancelled, so Maggie stayed with Nana.  Nana noticed Maggie was feeling warm took her temp and got her started on Tylenol, by 6:44pm she had two doses of Tylenol and a bath and her fever was up to 104.4.  Called the dr. and put her on Advil.  Her temp is down to 100.7 right now.  yay!

I am working on a photobook through this new site called www.mixbook.com - I love it!  They have a ton of great features and it is way more customizable than some other photobook sites.

46 weeks and 3 days ago I had a baby!!!  In 6 weeks I will have a 1 year old!  Wow!!  Time flies.  Right now her Papa (Grandpa) is rocking her back to sleep.  Every Friday night he comes home from Heppner, OR she is already in bed, but it is like she knows he is home and she wakes up to see him.  No other night does she do this  it is like she knows he is home.

Life is good...

So right now I am working full time, Maggie is in daycare full time, I am going to grad school full time (can you really do three things full time?) yes.  Is it hard, yes.

The goal is to have I can finish up my grad school program by next Christmas, though I hope just by me being in the program I will look hireable to school districts.  Hire me cheap before I have my endorsement :)

I had hand surgery on Dec. 29th to fix my carpel tunnel.  My carpel tunnel was moderate on their scale but basically it caused my whole arm and hand to go numb.  Bad news is that my left hand (the hand I had surgery on) is numb, to the point that I cannot feel anything with my left thumb, index, middle or ring finger.  My dr. did tests to verify of course he discovered that I was right.  So I had an ultrasound but as I looked at it - it looked inconclusive.  Hopefully he will call on Tuesday and have some answers.  Right now I am sick to my stomach that he botched my surgery.  My hand is actually worse than it was before I had surgery though the arm numbness is gone :(

happy new year

apologies for the typing - i am recovering from carpel tunnel surgery.

maggie seems to be feeling better - no vomiting today and no mes, her stools are getting more solid and she is full of gas.  so far we re sticking to rice cereal and bananas.  maybe Monday we will start adding more variety.

our new years celebration was going to bed by 9pm, and waking up every hour starting at midnight - maggie had some gas and cramping.  hopefully tonight will be better.

started looking into getting my teaching license in Wyoming, south Dakota, Idaho and Texas - hoping that in the fall i will be able to have a teaching job :)

off to rest my hand.

a more appropriate response would have been...

I need a day off so I can go to the dr. and get on anti-depressants.  Because I am so depressed it isn't even funny.  Instead of I want to give my two weeks notice.

I cannot ever take time off for myself because Maggie requires all my sick leave.  She gets sick like every frigging week.  Which is depressing, that doesn't really help with the overall depression I have been dealing with.

I am trying to decide if I should say something tomorrow and try to get my job back.  It isn't like I said anything bad about my job or the people I work with.  Just that I wanted to give my notice and that I had the opportunity to work part time which would be more beneficial for Maggie's and all her illnesses.

Being a single mom is way more overwhelming than I ever thought it would be.  I am sure part of that is being fired, unemployed, going to work part time returning to work at 1 week after my c-section, blah, blah, blah.

So I quit my job today...

Yep, I did it.  I quit my job.  I don't think my boss was surprised maybe she was even a little relieved.

I am going to work for two weeks then start working for the CPA firm I worked for in college.  Maggie will stop going to daycare. I am excited and scared all at the same time.

I am going to make almost the same amount of money when we take into consideration that I am no longer paying out $981 for day care and $200 for parking.

But it is still scary.  But it will be okay.
